Ukrainian composer and sound producer Ihor Kyrylenko became the musical director of Luxembourg’s national selection for Eurovision 2026. He announced this on Instagram, sharing that the opening number was created in collaboration with the directing group Tri Direction.

The show also featured star names: the winner of Eurovision 2025, Austrian JJ with the song ‘Wasted Love’ and Luxembourg’s representative at last year’s contest – Lora Thorn.
Luxembourg at Eurovision 2026 will be represented by singer Eva Maria with the song ‘Mother Nature’. After the results were announced, the artist came under a wave of plagiarism accusations; more details will be revealed in later materials.
Dates, Format and Participants of Eurovision 2026
The 70th Eurovision Song Contest this year will be held in Vienna after JJ’s victory with the song ‘Wasted Love’ at Eurovision 2025. The grand final is scheduled for May 16, 2026, with the semifinals on May 12 and 14. The show will take place at Wiener Stadthalle, the largest indoor arena in Austria.
Thirty-five countries will compete, of which 30 will advance to the semifinals. Based on the draw, Ukraine will perform in the second semi-final. Twenty semifinalists will advance to the final. The countries of the “Big Five” will automatically reach the final, with the exception of Spain, which declined to participate for the first time, as well as the previous year’s winner – Austria. Ireland and the Netherlands also declined to participate this year – in protest against Israel. Germany expressed solidarity with Israel.
Ukraine will be represented at the competition by singer Leléka with the song ‘Ridnym’. While details of the contest and the performance schedule remain to be announced, fans are following the events and updates from Eurovision 2026.
