Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed Luxembourg’s PM Luc Frieden to Ottawa on Monday. “Your voice is heard and appreciated in Europe,” Frieden told Carney adding “Canada plays a key role in our thinking about the future of Europe and the world. Frieden said Canada and Luxembourg share values based on the U.N. charter and its “fundamental principles” are “challenged” in Ukraine and the Arctic. As well, Frieden said their “teams will continue to deepen that relationship (in) financial services, space and of course defence/security.”
