President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden. The main topic of discussion was the decisions needed to strengthen Ukraine\u2019s resilience during the autumn and winter period. The head of state wrote about the results of the talks on Facebook.<\/p>\n
The interlocutors also discussed the results of the Coalition of the Willing meeting held in Kyiv on August 24.<\/p>\n
Defense Funding and Support for Ukraine\u2019s Budget<\/p>\n
Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Luc Frieden about the country\u2019s key needs. These include funding for the Ukrainian army and covering the state budget deficit.<\/p>\n
The president thanked Luxembourg for its willingness to help find the necessary solutions both bilaterally and at the European Union level.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy emphasized that Luc Frieden\u2019s visit to Ukraine on Independence Day was an important display of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and those who defend the country\u2019s independence every day.<\/p>\n
Meeting on Ukraine\u2019s Independence Day<\/p>\n
On August 24, 2026, Ukraine marked its 35th Independence Day. Ceremonial events on Sofiyska Square in Kyiv were attended by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the first lady, and high-ranking foreign guests.<\/p>\n
During the Coalition of the Willing summit, Luc Frieden stressed that support for Ukraine is directly linked to the security of all of Europe.
