Building on the success of the previous edition, around 250 students attended to explore the future of technology through workshops, a quiz, and interactive activities.

What is TN’Teens?

TN’Teens is a unique opportunity for high school students to discover the world of technology through inspirational workshops, an engaging quiz, and hands-on experiences. The event is designed to spark curiosity and foster innovation—helping prepare the digital leaders of tomorrow with guidance from some of Luxembourg’s top mentors.

Oracle Academy engages directly with the next generation of digital talent

Thomas Minne, Oracle Data Security Black Belt, explained:
“First, a bit more detail about the technical workshop: we designed a session to introduce students to how face recognition works—more specifically, how vectors are used behind the scenes. We also demonstrated how Oracle Database 26ai can support these types of use cases.

The students worked hands-on using resources in our cloud environment (Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle Autonomous Database) to better understand and experiment with these concepts.

We then expanded to real-world applications of vector technology in the students’ daily lives—for example, unlocking an iPhone with Face ID—and explained how similarity search and vector-based approaches are fundamental pillars of modern AI, often used without people even realizing it.

I was particularly impressed by the maturity of some of the students and the sharpness of their questions. Overall, the feedback was excellent—it’s clear the workshop was both engaging and educational.

In fact, the day after the session, one of the students reached out with follow-up questions while trying to reproduce the workshop at home, which really highlights their interest and engagement.”

Sébastien Hans, Oracle VP, CSS Service Solutions, EMEA, added:
“This is the third year in a row we’ve participated in the event. We see a clear and fast-growing interest from students in technology. It’s impressive how many more are aware of Oracle and enthusiastic about joining our workshop. This year we had a full house, with a waiting list.

We also saw strong interest from schools, with teachers participating in the workshop and lab. This has been an inspiring experience, helping build the foundation for future young talent and reinforcing Oracle’s role as an innovative technology company.”

Special thanks to Frédéric Lamock, Principal Account Cloud Engineer (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), and Gilles Haro, Master Principal Account Cloud Engineer (Database Platform), for their valuable contributions to the session.

Not a member?
