{"id":6702,"date":"2026-05-12T10:44:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T10:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/lu\/6702\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T10:44:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T10:44:07","slug":"japan-luxembourg-space-cooperation-deepens-as-lunar-race-advances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/lu\/6702\/","title":{"rendered":"Japan Luxembourg space cooperation deepens as lunar race advances"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Japanese ministerial delegation toured ispace-EUROPE\u2019s Luxembourg rover facility as the two countries strengthen cooperation in lunar exploration, robotics and advanced space technology<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Japan and Luxembourg are deepening cooperation in lunar exploration and advanced space technology as both countries look to play a larger role in the next phase of Moon missions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-c29eb972\">The growing relationship was highlighted by a visit from a high-level Japanese delegation to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ispace-inc.com\/aboutus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ispace-EUROPE\u2019s headquarters in Luxembourg, where engineers are developing rover systems for future lunar exploration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-0053ad79\">Yoshimasa Hayashi, Japan\u2019s Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications and President of the Japan\u2013Luxembourg Parliamentary Friendship League, led the delegation on Monday, May 4.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-1f7f0ae6\">The visit was held as part of the League\u2019s work and focused on cooperation between Japan and Luxembourg in innovation, advanced technologies and space exploration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-34d9959d\">During the visit, the Japanese delegation received an overview of ispace\u2019s global lunar missions, including its recently announced Lunar Connect services and the European-led MAGPIE lunar exploration mission.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-0a38e681\">Delegates also toured ispace-EUROPE\u2019s engineering facilities, where staff presented the company\u2019s rover systems, including rover structures, onboard software and mission operations capabilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-5df44a67\">The delegation then watched a live rover demonstration in the company\u2019s Lunar Yard test facility, which is used to simulate the lunar surface and support rover testing and development in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-978d01a2\">Jumpei Nozaki, Executive Business Director and CFO of ispace, said: \u201cSignificant developments are currently underway in lunar development and satellite infrastructure in lunar orbit, and we hope this visit will help invigorate global cooperation between Japan and Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-wd-paragraph wd-cafbaa10\">ispace-EUROPE is the Luxembourg-based subsidiary of ispace, inc. and focuses on lunar rover development.
