He announced this on Instagram, sharing that the opening number was created in collaboration with the directing group Tri Direction.<\/p>\n<p>There were incredibly many revisions. We approved the intro on the 21st attempt<\/p>\n<p> \u2013  Ihor Kyrylenko<\/p>\n<p>The show also featured star names: the winner of Eurovision 2025, Austrian JJ with the song \u2018Wasted Love\u2019 and Luxembourg\u2019s representative at last year\u2019s contest  \u2013  Lora Thorn.<\/p>\n<p>Luxembourg at Eurovision 2026 will be represented by singer Eva Maria with the song \u2018Mother Nature\u2019. After the results were announced, the artist came under a wave of plagiarism accusations; more details will be revealed in later materials.<\/p>\n<p>Dates, Format and Participants of Eurovision 2026<\/p>\n<p>The 70th Eurovision Song Contest this year will be held in Vienna after JJ\u2019s victory with the song \u2018Wasted Love\u2019 at Eurovision 2025. The grand final is scheduled for May 16, 2026, with the semifinals on May 12 and 14. The show will take place at Wiener Stadthalle, the largest indoor arena in Austria.<\/p>\n<p>Thirty-five countries will compete, of which 30 will advance to the semifinals. Based on the draw, Ukraine will perform in the second semi-final. Twenty semifinalists will advance to the final. The countries of the \u201cBig Five\u201d will automatically reach the final, with the exception of Spain, which declined to participate for the first time, as well as the previous year\u2019s winner  \u2013  Austria. Ireland and the Netherlands also declined to participate this year  \u2013  in protest against Israel. Germany expressed solidarity with Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine will be represented at the competition by singer Lel\u00e9ka with the song \u2018Ridnym\u2019.
