Luc Frieden, the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, stated his <a href=\"https:\/\/eurovoix.com\/2026\/05\/21\/prime-minister-frieden-confirms-luxembourgs-intention-to-compete-in-eurovision-2027\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/eurovoix.com\/2026\/05\/21\/prime-minister-frieden-confirms-luxembourgs-intention-to-compete-in-eurovision-2027\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">intention<\/a> to support Luxembourg\u2019s continued participation in the contest in the Chamber of Deputies in May. After various discussions, the Luxembourgish government approved funding to support Luxembourgish participation in Eurovision until 2029.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RTL released the following statement in response to the news:<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRTL Luxembourg welcomes the decision of the Government to approve Luxembourg\u2019s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest for the next three editions.<br \/>This decision provides the visibility and stability needed to continue developing the Eurovision project in Luxembourg and to strengthen the country\u2019s presence on the European music scene.<br \/>Since its return to the competition in 2024, Luxembourg has regained its place within one of the largest entertainment events in the world. RTL Luxembourg intends to continue this momentum by offering the public a unifying project that promotes creativity, cultural diversity, and Luxembourg\u2019s visibility beyond its borders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside confirmation of continued participation, RTL also confirmed that the Luxembourgish entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 will be selected through the fourth edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest, which will be held on January 30 in Rockhal in Esch. Details regarding the organisation of the contest and the call for applications will be revealed in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eva Marija represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 2026 with \u201cMother Nature\u201d. She finished 12th in Semi-Final Two, 62 points away from qualifying for the final. Luxembourg participated in the contest 37 times before withdrawing from the contest after 1993. During these 37 years, they won the contest five times. The last of these victories came in 1983. Luxembourg came close to returning to the contest in 2004, but opted against it due to the financial cost of participating.
