Paytm<\/a> Europe Payments has obtained a payment institution license from Luxembourg\u2019s financial regulator.<\/p>\n Approval allows the subsidiary of Indian fintech One 97 Communications to offer credit transfers and acquire payment transactions in the region, according to a report by Electronic Payments International<\/a>.<\/p>\n Regulators added Paytm Europe to their official list of payment institutions with effect from 2 July 2026.<\/p>\n Valid indefinitely, this license permits the company to execute fund transfers from payment accounts.<\/p>\n CSSF authorisation also covers transactions backed by user credit lines. It grants the firm permission to act as a payment acquirer across the jurisdiction.<\/p>\n Parent company One 97 Communications stated in a regulatory filing that this approval carries no immediate financial implications.<\/p>\n Regulatory clearance follows a capital injection completed earlier this year.<\/p>\n In May 2026, Paytm Cloud Technologies Limited subscribed to 9 million equity shares in the European unit at \u20ac1 each.<\/p>\n Proceeds from that \u20ac9 million investment were designed to increase paid up capital to support regional business requirements.<\/p>\n Paytm incorporated its European subsidiary in Luxembourg in January 2026.<\/p>\n Expansion into Europe follows the company securing payment aggregator authorisation<\/a> from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in December last year for offline and cross border transactions.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n
