An Italian SAMP T battery will join NATO positions in Konya, boosting allied air defence cooperation and readiness amid recent Patriot deployments in southern Turkey.
As part of NATO’s Permanent Defense Plan, a SAMP/T air defense system owned by Italy is planned to be deployed in central Turkey.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed the information.

According to NATO, additional Patriot systems were deployed in March in Turkey’s Malatya and Adana provinces.
