Avon Technologies PLC (LSE:AVON), the British maker of protective equipment for the military, has won a $10.8 million order to supply respirators to a European NATO member.
The order was placed by an existing customer through the framework contract run by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), which buys equipment on behalf of the alliance.
It covers FM50 full-face respirators, replacement filters and accessories, and will support the modernisation of protective gear for military personnel.
The FM50 is a twin-filter respirator designed to NATO military standards, intended to reduce breathing resistance and improve comfort so that personnel can operate for longer in hazardous conditions.
The work was won by Avon Protection, the division that supplies respiratory and CBRN equipment, which guards against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.
Avon said the order reinforced its expectations for the 2027 financial year.
Jos Sclater, the chief executive, said the deal reflected the company’s long-standing role as a supplier to NATO and allied forces.
Avon Protection supplies respiratory systems to 16 NATO nations under the NSPA framework.
The company said the framework offered a platform for repeat demand as members upgrade and standardise their equipment.
