An overwhelming majority of Ukrainians would vote in favor of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union (69.2%) and to NATO (61.2), if referendums on these issues were held in the near future, according to the results of a public opinion poll conducted by Socis from July 28 to August 2.
Twenty-two point two percent of respondents would vote against joining the EU, and 29.5% would vote against joining NATO. The rest would either not participate in the referendum or were undecided.
At the same time, compared to previous Socis surveys, support for EU accession has shown a slow but steady decline since October 2025, when it peaked at 74.8%.
Support for NATO membership, on the other hand, has also been falling since then (from 64.6% to 58.1% in April of this year), but has shown an increase over the past four months.
In total, the survey polled 2,000 respondents using a quota-stratified sample that is close to being representative at the national level in terms of age (18 and older), gender, type of settlement (city/village), and regional division of the country. Research method: face-to-face interviews using tablets (CARI); the average duration of a single interview was 13 minutes. The survey was not conducted in temporarily occupied territories or in areas where active hostilities are taking place. To the greatest extent possible at this time, the survey took into account the number and composition of the internally displaced population; citizens who have left the country; temporarily occupied territories; and areas where it is impossible to conduct a sociological survey due to active hostilities. Statistical sampling error (confidence interval): +/- 2.6%.
