Ukraine needs a place in an integrated European security system that has a formal or informal connection with NATO. According to retired Vice-Admiral Mark Norman, former Deputy Chief of the Canadian Defence Staff, this approach is key to ensuring the country\u2019s long-term security.<\/p>\n
He believes that Ukraine should receive clear assurances of sustained support from European countries and other international partners. This should become an important part of the future security architecture on the continent.<\/p>\n
