It follows U.S. intelligence reports that Moscow may try to test NATO&#8217;s resolve by launching a limited attack on a member state.<\/p>\n<p>American officials worry that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, facing setbacks in Ukraine and domestic pressure, could launch an attack likely targeting the Baltic states, according to the WSJ. Another contributing factor is a critical Western ammunition shortage caused by arms deliveries to Ukraine and the conflict in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>The Kremlin stated that Ratcliffe met with Russian intelligence officials but did not hold talks with Putin. The White House declined to clarify the purpose of the trip.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ratcliffe, one of Trump&#8217;s closest aides, is the latest American official to travel to Moscow, following several visits by U.S. peace envoy Steve Witkoff.
