Drone Defense and Security on NATO\u2019s Eastern Flank<\/p>\n
Finland\u2019s Ministry of Defence noted that the joint efforts of the two countries demonstrate their readiness to share responsibility for regional security and strengthen NATO\u2019s eastern flank.<\/p>\n
Finnish Defence Minister Antti H\u00e4kk\u00e4nen said that coordination in the air and maritime sectors has long been an important part of bilateral and Nordic defense cooperation.<\/p>\n
Cooperation in the air and maritime sectors has already become an integral part of our bilateral and Nordic relations. It is therefore natural to move toward cooperation in territorial surveillance and the protection of territorial integrity, in line with the work carried out within NATO. By working together, we strengthen the Alliance\u2019s deterrence and defense.<\/p>\n

Swedish Defence Minister P\u00e5l Jonson stressed that collective defense is one of the key areas of cooperation between Finland and Sweden as NATO member states. According to him, the countries are assessing available resources and developing capabilities for joint action with allies to ensure regional security more effectively.<\/p>\n
