{"id":7281,"date":"2026-07-08T14:48:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T14:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/7281\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T14:48:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T14:48:07","slug":"more-than-half-of-americans-view-nato-favourably","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/7281\/","title":{"rendered":"More Than Half of Americans View NATO Favourably"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-lg mb-4 first-letter:text-6xl first-letter:font-bold first-letter:text-primary first-letter:float-left first-letter:mr-2 first-letter:mt-1 first-letter:leading-[0.8] \">Nearly 60% of people in the United States (US) have a favourable view of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), a military alliance formed in the aftermath of World War Two to counter the threat of the Soviet Union.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-lg mb-4 \">This is according to Pew Research, an American think tank, which conducted the research between February and May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-lg mb-4 \">People in 13 NATO-member states were asked whether they had a favourable or unfavourable opinion of the body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-lg mb-4 \">Across the 13 countries, on average, 65% of people had a favourable opinion of NATO, with 30% being unfavourable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-lg mb-4 \">Of the countries surveyed, Poland felt the most favourable towards NATO, with 78% of people surveyed in that country feeling favourable towards NATO, and 13% feeling unfavourable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-lg mb-4 \">Turkey, of the 13 countries surveyed, had the highest proportion of people who held an unfavourable view of NATO.
