{"id":7447,"date":"2026-07-08T23:19:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T23:19:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/7447\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T23:19:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T23:19:15","slug":"russia-denounces-nato-decision-to-provide-military-aid-to-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/7447\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia denounces NATO decision to provide military aid to Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a style=\"display:block\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/resizer\/v2\/TC3S6GXILBGWFJGAFJUQPOQUIU.jpg?auth=5434c993e2517efc474494af495259c3bb3ee9feee33e23bdcb7c582aab45cc7&amp;width=600&amp;height=400&amp;quality=80&amp;smart=true\" aria-haspopup=\"true\" data-photo-viewer-index=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Open this photo in gallery:<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"figcap-text\">U.S. President Donald Trump meets with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine for bilateral talks at Be\u015ftepe Presidential Compound during the NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey.Win McNamee\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Russia denounced NATO\u2019s decisions at a summit in Turkey on Wednesday, saying they could have catastrophic consequences, after the alliance announced military aid to Ukraine and reaffirmed members\u2019 commitment to collective defence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said NATO\u2019s priorities remained unchanged: \u201cthe militarization of the European continent, the focus on building up defence capabilities, preparation for an armed conflict with Russia, and, of course, aid to Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">\u201cIt is a pity, because if NATO strategists had stopped and thought for a moment, they might not have made such irresponsible decisions that could lead to a catastrophe not just for the alliance, but for the whole world,\u201d Zakharova said in a statement on her ministry\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text mv-16 l-inset text-pb-8\" data-sophi-feature=\"interstitial\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/world\/article-trump-zelensky-meet-nato-summit-ukraine-license-manufacture-patriot\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trump grants Ukraine licence to manufacture Patriot missiles<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">NATO members at the summit pledged \u20ac70 billion in military assistance to Ukraine for 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">They reaffirmed their \u201cironclad commitment\u201d to collective defence under the alliance\u2019s Article 5 pact in a summit declaration and unveiled arms deals worth at least $50 billion USD.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">In her comments, Zakharova said \u201ccracks\u201d between the United States and its NATO partners \u201chave not gone anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">\u201cAgainst this backdrop, the Americans do not hide their disappointment with the North Atlantic bloc,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">\u201cThe issue with Greenland is not being resolved according to the American scenario.
