{"id":8279,"date":"2026-07-17T17:25:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T17:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/8279\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T17:25:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T17:25:12","slug":"british-aerospace-technology-company-greenjets-raises-e35-million-series-a-with-nato-backing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/8279\/","title":{"rendered":"British aerospace technology company Greenjets raises \u20ac35 million Series A with NATO backing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenjets.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Greenjets<\/a>, a London-based aerospace technology company developing propulsion systems, aircraft platforms and launch technologies for the next generation of aviation, today announced a \u20ac35 million ($40 million) Series A funding round.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The round was led by Blossom Capital, with participation from the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), the National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF), and existing investors including Tanglin Ventures, NSFO Family Office and others.<\/p>\n<p>Anmol Manohar and Dr. Guido Monterzino, the CEO and CTO of Greenjets, said in a joint statement, \u201cWhen we founded Greenjets, our ambition was to develop the technologies that would shape the future of aviation. The conflict in Ukraine has reinforced just how important those same technologies are in protecting lives, strengthening Europe\u2019s resilience and enabling the future of flight. We believe building affordable defensive capability is a necessary response to today\u2019s realities, and a natural extension of our mission to advance aviation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2022 by Manohar and Dr Monterzino, Greenjets claims that its patented engine technology increases aircraft safety and reduces the certification burden. The company has developed proprietary propulsion architectures spanning electric ducted fans through to geared turbofan engines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Combined with advanced\u202faircraft\u202fintegration and low-cost manufacturing, these technologies\u202fenable\u202faircraft\u202fthat are quieter, faster, more\u202fefficient\u202fand better suited to the demands of modern aerospace.\u202f<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, recent conflicts have\u202fdemonstrated\u202fhow rapidly aviation is changing, and how urgently Europe needs affordable technologies that can protect people, critical\u202finfrastructure\u202fand national resilience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Greenjets claims that its technologies are\u202fhelping address that challenge,\u202fapplying the same advances in propulsion,\u202faircraft\u202fintegration and manufacturing that underpin\u202fa\u202fwider aerospace portfolio. Its integrated portfolio spans propulsion systems, aircraft platforms and launch technologies, all built on a common technology stack. As per the company, this enables rapid iteration, production at scale and deployment across multiple aerospace applications.<\/p>\n<p>NIF stated, \u201cDrones have become the defining weapon of modern conflict. Russia produced over 50,000 Shahed-class attack drones in 2025, up from 11,000 in 2024. As these are getting faster, the predominant challenges of intercepting them become not only economic but also capability driven.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNewer Shahed drone variants are reaching speeds of 500 km\/h. At those speeds, propeller-based interceptors struggle to catch them. Turbojets can, but they take up to two minutes to spool up and have constrained supply chains. Greenjets provides the underlying engines and airframes to close this gap.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company is under contract across multiple UK and international programmes, with technologies progressing towards demonstration trials with the UK MOD and partners this year.\u202f<\/p>\n<p>Greenjets has expanded its UK facilities from 12,000 to nearly 70,000 square feet and is on track to grow from 160 to more than 250 people, supporting the transition from development to production.<\/p>\n<p>\u202fPatrick Schneider-Sikorsky, Partner at NIF, commented, \u201cThe speed at which the defence and security drone industry is evolving means that propulsion is the constraint that determines whether an interceptor can close the gap on a 500 km\/h target or vice versa. Greenjets is addressing this at the engine and airframe level, meaningfully improving the performance of UAS and CUAS companies, without them having to solve propulsion independently. This is exactly the kind of Allied supply-chain technology we were set up to back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company plans to use this funding to accelerate\u202fits transition from development to production, supporting the delivery of thousands of systems over the next 12 months.
