{"id":9088,"date":"2026-07-28T14:23:17","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T14:23:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/9088\/"},"modified":"2026-07-28T14:23:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T14:23:17","slug":"turkiye-helping-shape-natos-future-security-architecture-tai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/9088\/","title":{"rendered":"T\u00fcrkiye helping shape NATO&#8217;s future security architecture: TAI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>T\u00fcrkiye is making a strategic contribution to NATO&#8217;s future security architecture through its technology development capacity, engineering expertise and defense industry cooperation, according to the chief of the top Turkish defense contractor.<\/p>\n<p>Remarks by Mehmet Demiro\u011flu, the CEO of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), came during a panel, Perspectives from Ankara: The security and defense implications of the NATO Summit, hosted by the U.K.-based think tank Chatham House in London.<\/p>\n<p>The panel addressed trends shaping the defense industry, evolving security requirements and the transformative impact of technology, Demiro\u011flu said on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.<\/p>\n<p>Discussions also focused on joint capability development, technology integration, and cooperation among NATO defense industries, as well as T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s strategic role in this transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Demiro\u011flu said the Turkish defense industry had moved beyond merely developing military platforms and become a strategic stakeholder in the emerging security architecture shaped by the &#8220;NATO 3.0&#8221; vision.<\/p>\n<p>He said T\u00fcrkiye will continue contributing to NATO&#8217;s future security architecture through its ability to develop technology, its engineering strength, and its approach to cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>Production capacity central to collective deterrence<\/p>\n<p>Demiro\u011flu said production capacity, technological development, and joint industrial projects were becoming key elements of NATO&#8217;s collective deterrence.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new security paradigm, security depends not only on military strength but also on a robust defense industry, sustainable manufacturing capacity, resilient supply chains, technological superiority and cooperation among allies, he said.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s defense industry ecosystem is well positioned to support this approach, while TAI contributes through its indigenous platforms, engineering infrastructure and production capabilities, he added.<\/p>\n<p>                    <a data-fancybox=\"gallery\" href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/nato\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/452967.jpg\" data-caption=\"Mehmet Demiro\u011flu, the CEO of TAI, speaks during an event titled &quot;Perspectives from Ankara: The security and defense implications of the NATO Summit,&quot; hosted by the U.K. think tank Chatham House, London, U.K., July 27, 2026. (AA Photo) <\/p>\n<p>Demiro\u011flu said T\u00fcrkiye had become a major producer contributing not only to its own defense needs but also to the security of friendly and allied countries.<\/p>\n<p>He also stressed the importance of stronger transatlantic cooperation for European security.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want to see a stronger NATO with contributions from both sides of the Atlantic,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Defense spending should be assessed not only by budget size but also by the capabilities developed to address specific threats, he added.<\/p>\n<p>H\u00fcrjet strengthens T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s role in NATO ecosystem<\/p>\n<p>Demiro\u011flu said the planned export of the H\u00fcrjet advanced jet trainer to Spain represented more than a commercial achievement.<\/p>\n<p>The project is a strategic step strengthening the position of T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s aviation technologies within the European and NATO defense ecosystem, he said.<\/p>\n<p>H\u00fcrjet can be adapted to different user requirements and conduct missions in line with NATO standards, helping deepen cooperation with allied countries, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Demiro\u011flu said cost-effective systems that can be produced rapidly and adapted to operational needs were gaining importance alongside advanced platforms.<\/p>\n<p>TAI will continue strengthening T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s global position in the defense industry while contributing to NATO&#8217;s and Europe&#8217;s future security architecture, he added.<\/p>\n<p>                    <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.hizliresim.com\/JN9LXf.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n                    The Daily Sabah Newsletter\n                <\/p>\n<p>\n                    Keep up to date with what\u2019s happening in Turkey,<br \/>\n                    it\u2019s region and the world.\n                <\/p>\n<p>                    SIGN ME UP\n                <\/p>\n<p>\n                    You can unsubscribe at any time.
