Geniatech APC888 Edge AI Box PC is powered by an NXP i.MX 95 Cortex-A55/M7/M33 applications processor, and features an M.2 socket for AI accelerator from Hailo, MemryX, DeepX, or Kinara (now NXP).

The system comes with 4GB LPDDR5 and 32GB eMMC flash by default, features two Gigabit Ethernet ports, optional WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular, and GNSS connectivity, and two USB 3.0 ports. It’s available in commercial and industrial temperature grades.

NXP i.MX 95 Edge AI gateway

The expansion part is unclear, but considering that the box comes with two Gigabit Ethernet ports and five RJ45 ports, three of the RJ45 ports could be used for RS232/RS485, CAN Bus, or other I/Os. I can also see two red and black jacks on the front panel that could be for power or some odd-looking audio jacks.

Geniatech provides support for Linux through Yocto 5.0. There’s no other information about the software at this stage. Target applications include multi-camera video analytics, machine vision inspection, robotics perception, and intelligent retail analytics. We’ve covered a good number of NXP i.MX 95 hardware platforms (mostly system-on-modules), but somehow, it’s the first time we come across an AIoT gateway/Edge AI box PC based on the processor, except for the DAB Embedded AquaEdge, which is a bit different, as it specifically targets edge video processing.
