Stellantis reveals $70B turnaround plan promising nine new vehicles under $40K

  • May 21, 2026

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WIFR) – In a bid to restore dealer confidence, Stellantis announces a $70 billion, five-year strategic turnaround plan at Thursday’s Investor Day event in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa presented the five-year plan, called FaSTLAne 2030, which includes 60 new global models by 2030, a refocused brand strategy and a series of manufacturing partnerships.

Affordability is at the center of the U.S. plans. The automaker will introduce 11 all-new vehicles in North America, including nine priced under $40,000, with two of those under $30,000.

Company Leaders say Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and Fiat will serve as the company’s four key global brands. Those four, along with its commercial vehicle unit Pro One, will receive 70 percent of the company’s product investment budget.

The Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot are scheduled to be produced at the Belvidere Stellantis plant. UAW Local 1268 President Matt Frantzen tells WIFR News he expects that production to be launched in June of 2028.

Frantzen says Thursday’s turnaround plan is not connected to the anticipated launch agreement between Stellantis and UAW. Frantzen says he can’t comment on Thursday’s developments due to it being forecast on the company’s future plans.

The automaker is looking for a turnaround after two years of declining sales and a $26 billion net loss in 2025.
