(AP) – Kansas City has the Royals as its baseball team. European Royalty will also be in the City of Fountains this summer.
The Associated Press reported that the king and queen of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander and Máxima, will attend the World Cup match between Curaçao and Ecuador on June 20 at Kansas City Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Curaçao is an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. They will open group stage play on June 14 against Germany in Houston, then play in Kansas City before their final game against Cote d’Ivoire in Philadelphia on June 25.
The AP stated that the nation’s king, queen and crown princess will attend a Netherlands match against Sweden earlier in the day in Houston.
The Netherlands national soccer team arrived in Kansas City on Tuesday after wrapping up a friendly match in New York.
The “Oranje” will train at the Kansas City Current’s facility in Riverside. Their final group stage game in Kansas City will be June 25 against Tunisia.
