GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (WNYT)- A Gloversville man faces felony and misdemeanor charges after police said he fought officers during an arrest on an active warrant.

Isaiah McKiver, 32, of Gloversville was arrested April 12 after Amsterdam police said he was found as a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop. Police said McKiver was wanted on an active bench warrant issued in Amsterdam City Court.
As officers told McKiver about the warrant, police said he became combative and fought with patrol officers. Police said he resisted arrest by kicking and headbutting officers and caused physical injury to one officer before he was taken into custody.
McKiver was charged with Second-degree Assault, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and arrest on a warrant. He was taken to Amsterdam Police headquarters for processing and arraignment.
McKiver was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and remanded without bail to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
Police say the investigation is ongoing with additional charges possible.
