ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (WNYT) — Rotterdam Police said two people were hurt in a stabbing at Memorial Park and an 18-year-old was later arrested after what investigators called a targeted assault.
According to a police, officers responded to Memorial Park on Curry Road at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday, June 25, and found two people with apparent stab wounds. Officers gave emergency aid until Rotterdam EMS arrived. Both victims were taken to Albany Medical Center with injuries police said were not life-threatening.
Police said detectives processed evidence and conducted witness interviews at the park. Investigators said the victims and suspect knew each other and a disagreement led to the assault.
With help from the Schenectady Police Department, police said the suspect was found at an unrelated location and arrested without tincident at about 9:05 p.m.
Blaise M. Harrington, 18, has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
