Taylor Swift has had many a musical cameo across films and TV shows that choose to use her music for major needle drop moments, and she has appeared in several films and a TV show over the years on the acting side as well.

Some projects in which Swift has appeared also received a custom song by the singer/songwriter. For example, she wrote two songs for Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009) and appeared in the film to perform one of them — “Crazier.”

HANNAH MONTANA: THE MOVIE (2009)

As mentioned above, Swift wrote “Crazier” as well as “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home,” which Miley Cyrus performs at the end of the film, for Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009). She performed “Crazier” in a scene in a barn in the film for a slow dance romantic moment.

VALENTINE’S DAY (2010)

A specific scene of Swift as Felicia in Valentine’s Day (2010) has been making the rounds on the Internet following her wedding to football player Travis Kelce in early July 2026. She wrote “Today Was A Fairytale” for the film, in which she starred alongside former boyfriend Taylor Lautner, a track athlete in the film.

DR. SEUSS’ THE LORAX (2012)

Swift voiced Audrey in Illumination’s The Lorax, based on the book by Dr. Seuss. Zac Efron voiced Ted, Danny DeVito voiced The Lorax, Betty White voiced Grammy Norma, Jenny Slate voiced Ted’s mom, Ed Helms voiced The Once-ler and Rob Riggle voiced Mr. O’Hare. Though Swift didn’t contribute a song to this project, a lyric in her Midnights bonus track “Paris” harkens back to themes in the movie — “Sit quiet by my side in the shade, And not the kind that’s thrown, I mean the kind under where a tree has grown.”

NEW GIRL, Season 2, Episode 25 (May 2013)

For her one major television role, Swift chose a popular episode of New Girl in which Cece Parekh (Hannah Simone) almost marries Shivrang. The episode is titled “Elaine’s Big Day” after Swift’s character, Elaine, who takes on Swift’s anthem “Speak Now” and stands up at the ceremony after Shivrang (Satya Bhabha) expresses his love for her. The episode came out in 2013, and Cece goes on to marry Max Greenfield’s Schmidt in the series.

THE GIVER (2014)

Swift appeared as Jeff Bridges’ character’s daughter Rosemary in The Giver, based on the book by Lois Lowry. This was a rare role in which she showcases her musical chops and played the piano in a flashback scene, but her dark brown hair may throw viewers off.

CATS (2019)

In addition to appearing as Bombalurina in Cats (2019), Swift penned “Beautiful Ghosts” with Andrew Lloyd Weber for the live-action and CGI film, which also starred Jason Derulo, Dame Judi Dench, James Corden, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson and more.

AMSTERDAM (2022)

Swift’s Liz Meekins was short-lived in David O’Russell’s Amsterdam, but she made the most of the seven minutes she appears in the film.
