Police in Amsterdam declared a major incident after a BMW reportedly carrying explosives crashed in Osdorp following a pursuit linked to an ATM ram-raid in Fürth, Germany, with four men fleeing the scene and homes evacuated within a 100-metre radius.

Police have rushed to the scene of a car crash in Amsterdam after a vehicle believed to be carrying explosives left the road during a chase. Authorities were notified of a ram-raid in the German town of Fürth at approximately 4.30am on Tuesday and traced the vehicle involved, a BMW M1, to Amsterdam-Osdorp.
Officers, military personnel and other emergency services are present on Nierkerkestraat. A police spokesman confirmed that several individuals fled following the pursuit, with eyewitnesses stating they observed four men exiting the vehicle.
Properties within a 100-metre radius of the car’s location were evacuated as a safety measure while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit carries out its examination.
The Special Intervention Service (DSI) has also conducted searches of nearby properties to determine whether the suspects were concealed there.

A police helicopter has been spotted hovering over the vicinity and the road has been sealed off, reports the Express.
German authorities confirmed that nothing was stolen during the ATM ram-raid, although the structure sustained significant damage and a blaze erupted.
Dutch broadcaster Nos reported that the Amsterdam operation has now been escalated to a major incident requiring coordinated action between emergency services.
Footage circulating on social media shows several ambulances positioned at the location on standby.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with video evidence of the incident to contact them as the investigation progresses.
