ASML Korea plans to hire more than 100 people in the second half of this year, combining both new graduates and experienced professionals. A key feature of this recruitment drive is the expansion of the candidate pool beyond semiconductor industry veterans to include engineers with experience in other technology sectors such as advanced and precision manufacturing.
ASML Korea announced on the 27th that it will conduct open recruitment for new employees for the second half of 2026 through its official recruitment website from September 1 to 8. Work locations include South Korea’s major semiconductor production hubs such as Mars, Pyeongtaek, Cheongju, and Icheon.
Open positions include Customer Support (CS) engineers, Technical Support Engineers (TSE), and Field Application Engineers (FAE). CS engineer positions target candidates with a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, while TSE and FAE roles require a master’s degree or higher.
CS engineers are divided into Field Service Engineers (FSE), who handle lithography equipment maintenance at customer semiconductor fabs, and UIR (Upgrade·Install·Relocation) engineers, who manage equipment installation, upgrades, and relocation. Depending on the role, the hiring process includes presentation (PT) interviews and role-playing interviews.
Experienced hiring will focus on UIR positions, with triple-digit openings across core engineering roles including FSE, TSE, and FAE. Notably, the company has expanded its recruitment scope beyond the semiconductor industry to include talent with experience in advanced technology and engineering fields. The rationale is that technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities accumulated across various high-tech industries will create significant value in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
This large-scale hiring comes as demand for lithography equipment installation, maintenance, and upgrades has grown alongside the expansion of advanced semiconductor production by South Korean customers. South Korea accounted for 43% of ASML’s global equipment revenue as of the second quarter of this year, making it a core market.
In February, ASML Korea opened the “Global Training Center Korea” at its Mars campus in Gyeonggi Province, equipped with deep ultraviolet (DUV) and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography equipment and cleanrooms, to cultivate customer support engineers.
