ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Schonowe Volunteer Firefighter and his neighbors were displaced after a fire broke out at their apartment building on Hamburg Street Sunday night. According to the American Red Cross, four adults and two teenagers were displaced.

The Schonowe Volunteer Fire Rescue Company descirbed the home as a total loss. When NEWS10 crews arrived on scene, they reported seeing a two-story building still on fire, with crews attacking the flames from multiple angles.
According to the Carman Fire Department, where the fire started and what caused it is still under investigation by the county. No firefighters were injured but rescue teams say they will be collecting donations for those impacted.

They will also be accepting items for the others involved. Those items include:
Women’s size Small and Medium shirts
Women’s Pants size 2, 4 or large
Men’s Medium sized shirts
Men’s Medium sized pants or 3030
Men’s size 10 shoes
Women’s size 8.5 and size 10 shoes
