(AFNS) &#8212; \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bridging the 260 miles from Denver to the International Space Station, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spaceforce.mil\/Biographies\/Display\/Article\/4236061\/nick-hague\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brig. Gen. Nick Hague<\/a>, U.S. Space Force Guardian and NASA astronaut, kicked off a Colorado Front Range tour with a meet-and-greet, Aug. 11,\u00a0at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buckley.spaceforce.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Buckley Space Force Base<\/a>. Hague provided insights into the missions performed by Expedition 72 and the future of space exploration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strength of the Space Force lies in the dedication and expertise of our Airmen and Guardians, and my visit to Buckley Space Force Base was a testament to that,\u201d Hague said. \u201cBuckley embodies the spirit of innovation and dedication that has always defined this installation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Following his visit with service members, families and the local community, Hague visited the Mission Delta 4, 11th and 2nd Space Warning Squadrons, to share his gratitude for the Guardians\u2019 persistent work within the Overhead Persistent Infrared Battlespace Awareness Center.<\/p>\n<p>The OBAC is the cornerstone of our nation\u2019s defense strategy, using data from the Space-Based Infrared System constellation to detect ballistic missile launches, monitor space activities and identify infrared signatures in real-time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving the opportunity to connect with the dedicated Guardians who make the mission happen every day is always my top priority,\u201d Hague said. \u201cSeeing firsthand the cutting-edge work being done at the OBAC within Mission Delta 4 reinforces the critical role Buckley plays in defending our nation&#8217;s interests in space.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"USSF\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/USSF_Icon.png\" style=\"width: 40px;\" title=\"USSF\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n            &#13;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; &#13; BUCKLEY SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo.
