NXP Semiconductors<\/a> on Thursday said it has partnered with Quanta<\/a> to develop a deterministic zonal networking platform<\/a> aimed at accelerating the rollout of software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures.<\/p>\n

According to the official press release, the solution is based on NXP\u2019s S32 automotive processing platform<\/a> and MotionWise middleware and is designed to support real-time communication, automated configuration and predictable latency across vehicle networks.<\/p>\n

As automakers shift from traditional ECU-based systems to zonal electronic architectures, managing real-time coordination across distributed computing and vehicle networks has emerged as a major challenge, affecting performance, integration complexity and development timelines.<\/p>\n

The platform is designed to provide predictable low-latency communication across ECUs and in-vehicle networks while reducing integration risks and supporting automated configuration and deployment for software-defined vehicle programmes. It also supports latency-sensitive applications such as audio-over-Ethernet, high-performance computing integration, real-time control systems and smart energy networking.<\/p>\n

\u201cSoftware-defined vehicles require a fundamentally different approach to vehicle architecture\u2014one that delivers deterministic timing across both compute and network at scale,\u201d said Sebastien Clamagirand, SVP and GM, PL Automotive Systems and Platforms (AS&P), NXP Semiconductors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the companies, the system integrates zonal controllers, TSN-enabled networking, CAN and LIN connectivity, and scalable power management into a unified hardware and software architecture intended for deployment across multiple vehicle programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuanta\u2019s Adaptive Zonal System is designed to deliver deterministic performance and system-level scalability for next-generation vehicle platforms,\u201d said Terrisa Chung, Vice-President and General Manager of the Automotive Business Group at Quanta. <\/p>\n

The solution is currently available to OEMs and ecosystem partners, with demonstrations underway on Quanta development platforms and additional showcases planned through 2026.<\/p>\n
