After the long-standing acting director of the University Clinical Center Ni\u0161, Prof. Dr. Zoran Peri\u0161i\u0107, was dismissed at today\u2019s Government session, hematologist Dr. Milan Lazarevi\u0107 has been appointed to his position, as we have learned. Doctor Lazarevi\u0107 is also the president of the City Board of the Movement for the People and the State in Ni\u0161, which is close to the SNS, and he is the son of General Vladimir Lazarevi\u0107, who served a sentence in The Hague due to accusations of war crimes.<\/p>\n
The new acting director of the Clinical Center in Ni\u0161, Dr. Milan Lazarevi\u0107, became known to the public after joining the Movement for the People and the State, founded at the end of 2025. Specifically, Dr. Lazarevi\u0107 joined the Serbian Progressive Party in 2023.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only reason I joined was to show that unity and harmony are most important at a moment when we need to defend our fatherland from what is happening daily and from what is yet to come,\u201d Lazarevi\u0107 stated at the time.<\/p>\n
Although he said at that time that he did not want any functions, by the end of 2025, he was elected president of the board of the newly formed Movement for the People and the State, and in 2026, he became the acting director of UKC Ni\u0161.<\/p>\n
Doctor Lazarevi\u0107 is also known in Ni\u0161 as the son of General Vladimir Lazarevi\u0107, who was convicted at the Hague Tribunal for war crimes and was released in 2015 after serving his prison sentence, since when he has been a regular guest on local television stations in southern Serbia.<\/p>\n
Otherwise, Dr. Lazarevi\u0107 has two specializations, transfusion and hematology, is an assistant in the subject of Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ni\u0161, and he formed the laboratories for hemostasis, serology, and PCR at UKC Ni\u0161 and is the project leader of the first blood bank in this Clinical Center.<\/p>\n
In addition to the new acting director, UKC Ni\u0161 has, as we learn, also received a new deputy director, namely Prof. Dr. Goran Stanojevi\u0107. Doctor Stanojevi\u0107, a specialist in surgery and a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Ni\u0161, was until today the assistant to Director Peri\u0161i\u0107, and he is also politically very active. Namely, he is one of the founders of the Movement for the People and the State, so he is a party colleague of the new director Lazarevi\u0107.<\/p>\n
Doctor Stanojevi\u0107 deals with general, abdominal, and colorectal surgery.<\/p>\n

Dismissal of the complete administration<\/p>\n
As a reminder, at today\u2019s Government session, the complete administration of the University Clinical Center Ni\u0161 was dismissed, headed by Prof. Dr. Zoran Peri\u0161i\u0107 and his deputy, the famous anesthesiologist Prof. Dr. Radmilo Jankovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
Despite reaching the requirements for retirement, Prof. Dr. Zoran Peri\u0161i\u0107\u2019s mandate was extended in 2025 until November 2027. However, after the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption recently submitted a request for his dismissal, the replacement followed at today\u2019s Government session.<\/p>\n
Namely, according to the Agency\u2019s decision, the director of UKCS violated the Law on the Prevention of Corruption after he promoted his wife and assigned her brother several jobs within this health institution.<\/p>\n
