Air France<\/a> is the second-largest European airline for long-haul flights, behind British Airways. For the rest of the year, France’s flag carrier plans an average of 79 daily long-haul departures from its homeland. Despite this, the carrier receives relatively little attention for the duration of its routes. <\/p>\n

The SkyTeam member’s long-haul offering is from both its Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport<\/a> (CDG) hub and Nice. The latter comprises two time-limited routes to\/from the US<\/a>. The carrier’s final long-haul services from Paris Orly ended in March 2026. <\/p>\n

As with most articles that examine the length of flights,<\/a> the maximum block time is used here<\/a>, which is taken from Air France’s schedule submission to OAG<\/a>. Block time reflects slot possession and includes taxi time at both ends of a route,<\/a> flight time, and a short period for delays. <\/p>\n

It is chocks-off-to-chocks-on (or, if you prefer, stand-to-stand or gate-to-gate). It balances the need for a competitive schedule, high aircraft productivity, and high punctuality. It is what’s shown on the carrier’s website, in other booking locations, and in schedules.<\/p>\n

This article focuses on June 2026 and March 2027 and combines nonstop and one-stop services. While unsurprising, Air France’s longest operation is from CDG to Papeete via Los Angeles. The maximum block time is a considerable 22 hours and 20 minutes, with fifth freedom rights between Los Angeles and Tahiti. While the frequency varies from five weekly to daily flights, the 292-seat Airbus A350-900<\/a> is exclusively deployed. <\/p>\n

The largest island in French Polynesia, Tahiti is an overseas collectivity of France and, therefore, part of the country. Despite the 22+ hour block time and covering 8,486 nautical miles (15,716 km) each way, it is a domestic route, albeit not the world’s longest domestic link. Close partner Delta Air Lines recently ended Los Angeles-Papeete flights<\/a>. Air Tahiti Nui and French bee also operate between Papeete and the French capital.<\/p>\n

These entries are dramatically shorter than what ranked first. Given that nonstop and one-stop flights are amalgamated, this is not surprising. This is partly why some prefer only to focus on one or the other. Nonetheless, a combined examination means completeness.<\/p>\n

At up to 15 hours and ten minutes, Manila is back to CDG is second, with this duration influenced by avoiding Russian and Iranian airspace. After a 20-year hiatus, Air France resumed flying to the Philippines in December 2024<\/a>. While flights operated year-round, they were suspended in early May 2026 amid the war in Iran and won’t return until October. It is unclear if it’ll simply become seasonal.<\/p>\n

When they are back, they’ll operate three times weekly using the 324-seat A350-900. Air France joins KLM in being the only two carriers with scheduled passenger flights from the European Union to the Philippines. When all of Europe is considered, three passenger operators have flights, with the two airlines joining Turkish Airlines.<\/a> Its hub is on the European side of the Bosphorus. <\/p>\n

In third place is Osaka Kansai back to CDG (up to 14 hours and 55 minutes; three to four weekly Boeing 787-9).<\/a> Air France is one of five airlines flying between Europe and Osaka. Tokyo Haneda back to France’s busiest airport is fourth (up to 14 hours and 50 minutes; ten to 18 weekly; A350-900 and 777-300ER), followed by Shanghai Pudong back to the European airport (up to 14 hours and 45 minutes; daily to ten weekly; mainly the 777-300ER but also the 777-200ER and A350-900). The times are heavily influenced by airspace closures. <\/p>\n

With a maximum block time of 14 hours and 30 minutes, CDG to Santiago is sixth (daily to ten weekly; primarily on the A350-900 but also the 777-200ER<\/a> at times). Air France has more flights from Northern Europe to the capital of Chile than any other airline. <\/p>\n

Then there’s Seoul Incheon back to CDG, which is a true SkyTeam<\/a> route (up to 14 hours and 20 minutes; daily; mainly the A350-900 but occasionally the 777-200ER and 777-300ER). While Air France did not fly its A380s to South Korea<\/a>, CDG was the number one recipient of partner Korean Air’s superjumbos<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Singapore back to France’s busiest airport was eighth (up to 14 hours and 15 minutes; ten to 11 weekly; 777-300ER and 787-9), followed by Hong Kong back to CDG (14 hours and five minutes; daily; A350-900) and CDG to Buenos Aires (up to 13 hours and 55 minutes; daily to nine weekly; A350-900 and 787-9).
