The Netherlands, which will be based out of the Kansas City Current’s training facility in Riverside, Missouri, during the World Cup, will bring plenty of fans with them. Those fans don’t miss an opportunity to paint the town orange, and it will be no different when they arrive in Kansas City. At home, fans create an orange wave, marching to the match while decked out in orange from head to toe. And when the Netherlands takes on Tunisia in Kansas City on June 25, their Orange Fanwalk will take over downtown Kansas City. Since it wouldn’t exactly be an easy walk to Kansas City Stadium, or Arrowhead, fans will instead walk from the Power & Light District to the FIFA Fan Festival. “It is inspiring to see how the global sport of football is bringing fans from across the globe to the Soccer Capital of America in Kansas City,” said John Moncke, president of Power & Light. “In the U.S., Kansas City has a reputation for being home to the most passionate sports fans in the country, and the Oranje supporters are amongst the most iconic supporters in the world. We look forward to welcoming all of you to the place where the original soccer celebrations began at the Kansas City Power & Light District, and we look forward to joining you in the march to the match.” Fans can begin to gather at 11 a.m. at Power & Light. The Orange Fan Team, including Yuki, FeestDJRuud, Yves Berendse and artist JEA will kick off the entertainment. The Fanwalk will depart at 12:15 p.m., led by the iconic Orange Bus.
