China\u2019s
\ndecision to purchase Boeing aircraft for the first time in nearly a decade
\nmarks a major shift in the global aviation industry and signals a possible
\neasing of tensions between Beijing and Washington. <\/p>\n
According
\nto China Daily, Chinese airlines are expected to buy 200 Boeing aircraft under
\na new commercial agreement announced after recent high-level talks between the
\nUnited States and China.<\/p>\n
The
\nmove is especially significant because Boeing has steadily lost ground in one
\nof the world\u2019s most important aviation markets. <\/p>\n
Since
\n2019, Chinese carriers sharply reduced purchases from the American manufacturer
\nfollowing trade disputes, political tensions, and the global grounding of the
\nBoeing 737 MAX after two fatal crashes. <\/p>\n
During
\nthat period, European rival Airbus expanded aggressively across China and now
\ncontrols roughly 55 percent of the country\u2019s commercial aircraft market.<\/p>\n
Industry
\nanalysts view the new Boeing order as more than just a business transaction.
\nAviation experts say aircraft deals between China and the United States have
\nlong reflected the broader state of bilateral relations. <\/p>\n
The
