AMSTERDAM, May 29 \u2014 US rapper Kanye West, who has been barred from performing in several countries due to past antisemitic comments<\/a>, is set \u200bto hold concerts in the Netherlands next month, after the country\u2019s \u200cmigration minister said there were no legal grounds to deny him entry.<\/p>\n

Dutch lawmakers had urged the government to bar West, who is now known as Ye, \u200bciting his past remarks and expressions of admiration for Nazism \u200band Adolf Hitler.<\/p>\n

\u201cSolid grounds are needed to bar people \u2060from entering (the Netherlands). We have not found those in the analyses \u200bthat were conducted,\u201d Bart van den Brink said on Friday. <\/p>\n

\u201cHis past statements \u200bare not, at this moment, a reason to deny him entry.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 48-year-old rapper will perform at concert venue GelreDome in the city of Arnhem, about 100 \u200bkilometers (62 miles) southeast of Amsterdam, on June 6 and 8. <\/p>\n

They \u200bwould be Ye\u2019s first European performances since 2014, GelreDome said on its website.<\/p>\n

Arnhem authorities \u200csaid \u2060no permits to protest the concerts had so far been requested.<\/p>\n

Ye has faced a\u00a0growing global backlash<\/a>, including for his release of \u201cHeil Hitler,\u201d a song promoting Nazism.<\/p>\n

In April, Britain\u00a0denied<\/a>\u00a0Ye entry on the grounds that his \u200bpresence would not \u200bbe conducive to \u2060the public good, forcing the cancellation of his planned Wireless Festival appearance in London<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Later that month, \u200bhe also\u00a0postponed<\/a>\u00a0a Marseille show after reports that the French \u200bgovernment had \u2060sought to block it<\/a>, and a concert in Poland was also subsequently\u00a0canceled<\/a>.<\/p>\n
