{"id":17713,"date":"2026-05-31T23:40:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-31T23:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/17713\/"},"modified":"2026-05-31T23:40:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T23:40:12","slug":"danish-national-arrested-as-part-of-hamas-network-seeking-to-attack-jewish-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/17713\/","title":{"rendered":"Danish national arrested as part of Hamas network seeking to attack Jewish sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An alleged Danish Hamas member was arrested on Wednesday in connection with arms procurement for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/defense-news\/article-874507\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Hamas<\/a> plot to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/international\/article-897554\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">attack Jewish and Israeli sites<\/a> in Europe, the German Federal Prosecutor\u2019s Office announced on Thursday. This is Europe\u2019s eighth arrest in connection with the Hamas network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Yousif C was arrested near Copenhagen by Danish police following a warrant issued by German prosecutors, after the alleged Hamas member supposedly provided five pistols and ammunition to Abdel Al G. in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Abdel Al G, who was arrested on October 1, had allegedly given the firearms to Mohammed A, a British citizen arrested in London in November.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed A. had reportedly met with Abdel Al G. during the summer and was given weapons to transport and store in Austria. Die Welt has claimed the British man to be the son of Hamas official Bassem Naim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Austria&#8217;s Directorate State Protection and Intelligence Service (DSN) announced in November that it had uncovered a weapons cache of five handguns and 10 magazines in a rented Vienna storage unit, stored in a suitcase as part of an alleged Hamas plot to target Israeli or Jewish institutions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">In March, Lebanese national Kamel M. was arrested by border officials in Larnaca airport, Cyprus, after German law enforcement conducted a search of his apartment. The suspected Hamas member had allegedly sent 300 ammunition cartridges to Abdel Al G through Mohammad S., who was arrested at the Berlin Brandenburg Airport upon arriving from Beirut in January.
