{"id":2546,"date":"2026-04-14T23:56:05","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T23:56:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/2546\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T23:56:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T23:56:05","slug":"mammoet-ulc-energy-ink-nuclear-deal-in-netherlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/2546\/","title":{"rendered":"Mammoet, ULC-Energy Ink Nuclear Deal in Netherlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/mammoet-ceo-joost-goderie,-ulc-energy-ceo-dirk-rabelink-sign-nuclear-cooperation-deal-(5)_2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>By Simon West<\/p>\n<p>Mammoet and ULC-Energy have teamed up to streamline the buildout of nuclear power facilities in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>Mammoet said a cooperation agreement had been struck with the nuclear development company that seeks to tap into the Dutch government\u2019s push for nuclear energy as part of its climate strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands currently operates one nuclear reactor at Borssele with a capacity of 485 MWe. A 2021 policy reversal ended plans to phase out nuclear power, with the government now aiming to build up to four new reactors.<\/p>\n<p>Small modular reactors (SMRs) are also an option for the government as part of its nuclear expansion plans. Mammoet said ULC-Energy is working to deploy multiple SMRs across the Netherlands and Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to benefitting from a partner in ULC-Energy that is familiar with Rolls Royce technology, while supporting with early-stage strategy on how to build new nuclear plants with efficiency,\u201d said Alex Scott, global sector lead for nuclear at Mammoet.<\/p>\n<p>Mammoet draws on decades of global experience in the <a href=\"https:\/\/breakbulk.com\/articles\/mammoet-deploys-lifting-system-hinkley-point\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">assembly<\/a>, maintenance and <a href=\"https:\/\/breakbulk.com\/articles\/nuclear-powers-second-act\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">decommissioning<\/a> of nuclear power facilities worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The company pointed to its expertise in modular construction techniques that can accelerate nuclear projects by enabling offsite fabrication and reducing overall build times.<\/p>\n<p>Mammoet will be exhibiting at <a href=\"http:\/\/europe.breakbulk.com\/home\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Breakbulk Europe 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Photo: Mammoet CEO Joost Goderie and ULC-Energy CEO Dirk Rabelink sign the agreement at Mammoet\u2019s head office in Schiedam, the Netherlands.
