KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Thousands of orange-clad Netherlands supporters will parade through downtown Kansas City on Thursday. The Oranjebus will lead the walk before their squad takes on Tunisia in their final World Cup<\/a> group stage match.<\/p>\n

Fans will gather at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Power & Light District, according to KCPD Major Abby Martinez.<\/p>\n

Sometime between 11 and 11:15 a.m., the iconic Oranje Fanwalk parade will make its way through downtown on Grand Boulevard and toward the FIFA Fan Festival.<\/p>\n

Officials said street closures are expected. The parade will begin on Grand Boulevard near Power and Light and end on West Pershing Road near Union Station.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will have streets shut down when we start to see those crowds gather. There will be an impact on traffic. So if you\u2019re working downtown, if you\u2019re traveling through downtown, make sure that you arrive early, that you\u2019re traveling safe,\u201d said KCPD Major Abby Martinez.<\/p>\n

The FIFA Fan Festival is currently set to open at 1 p.m. tomorrow, but KC2026 says they are working with safety officials and vendors to open \u201cas early as possible,\u201d but cannot guarantee it, as the parade is now starting ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n

Major Martinez also said they \u201cdon\u2019t know\u201d how many people to expect at the parade.<\/p>\n

\u201cFans will get a final energy boost before heading to the stadium for the potentially decisive conclusion of the group stage,\u201d according to the Dutch football association.<\/p>\n

Affectionately known as the Oranje, the Netherlands is backed by an energetic fanbase: the Orange Army.<\/p>\n

Thousands of supporters flanked the famous Dutch Orange Bus<\/a> in Houston and Dallas ahead of the team\u2019s first two matches.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Netherlands has its base camp at the Kansas City Current\u2019s practice facility<\/a> in Riverside for the World Cup. The Dutch are ranked as the No. 7 team in the world.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s match against Tunisia is set for 6 p.m.<\/p>\n
