<\/p>\nUnibet has been told to improve its customer due diligence in the Netherlands ahead of a re-inspection following violations of Dutch anti-money laundering regulations.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) said on Friday that Unibet\u2019s transaction monitoring and control measures \u201cdo not align well\u201d with its policy in practice.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe KSA has also told Optdeck Service, which operates the FDJ United brand in the Netherlands, to adjust its policy regarding AML thresholds and the requirement to investigate source of funds.<\/p>\n
\tEffective AML monitoring<\/p>\n
\n\tThe regulator wants to ensure these thresholds \u201cbecome effective in the ongoing monitoring of players and their transactions.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tUnibet has adopted a \u201cco-operative attitude\u201d to the KSA\u2019s investigation and ceased some of the violations, the regulator said, adding it will conduct a follow-up inspection once the directive issued expires.<\/p>\n
\tFresh enforcement action for Unibet<\/p>\n
\n\tThe AML directive for Unibet and Optdeck from the KSA follows the regulator’s issuing of a \u20ac4m fine for the company in December for “weak” player interventions.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe KSA said Unibet “failed to intervene in a timely manner<\/a> with players who were depositing thousands of euros per day.”<\/p>\n
