(Alliance News) – The Stellantis shareholders’ meeting in Amsterdam marks an attempt to turn the page after a challenging 2025, bolstered by recent positive registration and production data, as reported by Corriere della Sera on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\nChairman John Elkann, reconfirmed with nearly 90% of the vote, emphasized that the group demonstrated resilience during a transitional year, laying the groundwork for recovery. Looking toward 2026 with “humility” but also confidence, he reaffirmed his support for the new CEO, Antonio Filosa.<\/p>\n
\nFilosa himself described 2025 as a year marked by economic headwinds, supply chain disruptions, regulatory uncertainties, and the impact of tariffs\u0097factors that necessitated a profound overhaul of the operating model.<\/p>\n
\nIn this context, Elkann explained to Exor shareholders that the group has revisited past decisions, including those made under Carlos Tavares’s leadership, realigning plans with market and customer needs, improving quality and production, and strengthening capital allocation discipline with a priority on profitability and cash generation.<\/p>\n
\nThe new strategy also includes the announcement of approximately EUR22 billion in charges, disclosed in February, which will have a significant impact on the 2025 financial statements. Elkann described these measures as “painful but necessary” to strengthen the operating model and support long-term value creation.<\/p>\n
\nSigns of recovery emerged in the second half of the year, with revenues increasing by 10% to EUR79.2 billion and volumes growing by 11%. The Chairman attributed this progressive quarter-on-quarter improvement to the new management team.<\/p>\n
\nDuring 2025, the group also launched 10 new models covering all powertrain types, while Filosa highlighted an increase in orders and what he described as an early but significant improvement in product quality and industrial execution.<\/p>\n
\nThe next key milestone will be the Investor Day on May 21, during which Stellantis will present its new strategic phase, including operational priorities and targets. However, a more critical perspective remains from the Fiom-Cgil union, with analysts Samuele Lodi and Ciro D’Alessio noting that 2025 was “the worst year in the group’s history.”<\/p>\n
