After the goal, which was assisted by Crysencio Summerville, the Dutch bench ran onto the field to embrace the 27-year-old Gakpo, who broke down in tears. (AP Photo\/Ricardo Mazalan)<\/p>\n<p>      <\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. left Monday night\u2019s game against the Detroit Tigers following a violent collision with right fielder Jasson Dom\u00ednguez and was placed in concussion protocol.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">With the Yankees down 7-0 in the fourth inning, Hao-Yu Lee hit a high popup to shallow right field. Chisholm ran back and attempted to make the catch but Dom\u00ednguez charged in and caught the ball as his glove struck Chisholm in the face.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">\u201cI\u2019m not sure exactly what happened,\u201d manager Aaron Boone said after a 7-3 loss sent the Yankees to their fifth straight defeat. \u201cObviously we\u2019re playing the infield in, so it\u2019s a little bit that no-man\u2019s land. I think JD called it late. I don\u2019t know if he didn\u2019t hear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">Chisholm immediately fell down on the grass and was on his back for several minutes as Boone and athletic trainer Tim Lentych checked on him. After a few minutes, Chisholm stood up and walked slowly off the field under his own power. He was replaced at second base by Oswaldo Cabrera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">\u201cIt was really unfortunate,\u201d Dom\u00ednguez said. \u201cThey were playing infield in. In my mind, I&#8217;ve got to go catch the ball. I called it, but obviously I didn&#8217;t call it loud enough. But really unfortunate what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">Dom\u00ednguez remained in the game and crashed hard into the outfield wall on the next play while catching Kerry Carpenter&#8217;s drive to end the fourth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"font-size-scaler-control\" data-font=\"16\">\u201cMy elbow kind of went into my belly,\u201d Dom\u00ednguez said. \u201cI was just out of breath.
