Airbus told us to get out,\u201d Trappier said before a French Senate committee, adding that discussions are ongoing over what he described as Dassault\u2019s exclusion from the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Airbus declined to comment on Trappier\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The disagreement follows a Reuters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/aerospace-defense\/dassault-airbus-new-eurodrone-row-after-fighter-collapse-sources-say-2026-06-11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">report<\/a> in June that Dassault was seeking compensation from Airbus over changes to the program. The dispute reportedly stems from a reduced share of work for Dassault after France decided to scale back plans to procure the medium-altitude, long-endurance drone.<\/p>\n<p>Eurodrone Program\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eurodrone is being jointly developed by France, Germany, Italy, and Spain as Europe\u2019s answer to the US-made <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2025\/11\/26\/mq9-reaper-drone-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">MQ-9 Reaper<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Airbus serves as the program\u2019s prime contractor, while Dassault Aviation and Italy\u2019s Leonardo are major industrial partners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The planned aircraft will feature advanced sensor suites, a payload capacity of up to 2.3 tonnes (5,070 pounds), and an endurance of approximately 40 hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0In October 2025, Airbus completed the <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2025\/10\/22\/eurodrone-critical-design-reviewe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">critical design review for the Eurodrone<\/a>, a key milestone confirming that the aircraft\u2019s design is mature enough to move toward prototype production.
