The complexity associated with painting around critical flight components and the added weight requires outside-the-box thinking from designers. The German flag carrier, now the flagship airline of one of the largest aviation groups in the world, is showcasing a special livery on several of its most iconic aircraft on its fleet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AirlineGeeks previewed the centennial livery last December when <a href=\"https:\/\/airlinegeeks.com\/2025\/12\/26\/livery-of-the-week-lufthansa-turns-100\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">it was introduced on a Boeing 787-9 aircraft<\/a>, and subsequently on a <a href=\"https:\/\/airlinegeeks.com\/2026\/03\/04\/lufthansa-747-8i-gets-100th-anniversary-livery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Boeing 747-8i<\/a>. On July 14, Lufthansa released a few images of the latest new entry in its long-haul fleet: the new Airbus A350-1000 will join the Munich base next fall and will feature the special livery celebrating the one hundredth birthday of the airline.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1920_ai-pho-0251-06-a350-1000lufthansamsn799rollout-016.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-100654\"  \/>Lufthansa\u2019s first Airbus A350-1000 aircraft in \u201c100 years\u201d special livery. (Photo: Lufthansa)<\/p>\n<p>700th Aircraft<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first airframe of the new model will be the 700th aircraft in Lufthansa\u2019s fleet and will feature new Allegris seats in a four-class configuration carrying up to 300 passengers. Currently using the manufacturer\u2019s callsign F-WZNY, the aircraft will enter service under the German registry with the new registration number D-AIFA and the name \u201cDeutschland.\u201d It will be powered by two Rolls-Royce engines.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1920_ai-pho-0251-05-a350-1000lufthansamsn799-demaskingandretouch-080.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-100653\"  \/>Lufthansa\u2019s first Airbus A350-1000 aircraft in \u201c100 years\u201d special livery.
