Police have rushed to the scene of a car crash in Amsterdam after a vehicle believed to be carrying explosives left the road during a chase. Authorities were notified of a ram-raid in the German town of F\u00fcrth at approximately 4.30am on Tuesday and traced the vehicle involved, a BMW M1, to Amsterdam-Osdorp.<\/p>\n

Officers, military personnel and other emergency services are present on Nierkerkestraat. A police <\/a>spokesman confirmed several individuals fled following the pursuit, with eyewitnesses reporting they observed four men exiting the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Properties within a 100-metre radius of where the car was found have been evacuated as a precautionary measure while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carries out its investigation.<\/p>\n

The Special Intervention Service (DSI) has also conducted searches of nearby properties to determine whether the suspects were concealed there.<\/p>\n

A police helicopter has been spotted hovering over the vicinity and the road has been sealed off, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

German authorities confirmed <\/a>nothing was stolen during the ram-raid on the cash machine, although the structure sustained significant damage and a blaze erupted.<\/p>\n
