Police have rushed to the scene of a car crash in Amsterdam<\/a> after a vehicle reportedly laden with explosives left the road during a pursuit. Officers were alerted to a ram-raid in the German town of F\u00fcrth at approximately 4.30am on Tuesday and traced the getaway vehicle, a BMW<\/a> M1, to Amsterdam-Osdorp.<\/p>\n Police, military personnel and other emergency services are currently on the ground at Nierkerkestraat. A police spokesperson confirmed that several individuals fled the scene following the chase, with eyewitnesses reporting that four men were seen exiting the vehicle.<\/p>\n Residents within a 100-metre radius of where the car was found were evacuated as a precautionary measure while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carries out its investigation.<\/p>\n Amsterdam’s Osdorp area(Image: X)<\/p>\n The Special Intervention Service (DSI) also conducted searches of nearby properties in the area to establish whether any of the suspects were concealed within.<\/p>\n A police helicopter was spotted circling overhead as the street was cordoned off by authorities, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n German police confirmed that nothing was stolen during the ram-raid on the ATM, although the building sustained severe damage and a fire broke out at the scene.<\/p>\n Dutch outlet Nos reported that the operation in Amsterdam has since been elevated to a major incident, requiring a coordinated response from multiple emergency services.<\/p>\n Footage circulating on social media shows several ambulances stationed at the scene on standby.<\/p>\n![\"Amsterdam's](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1785254529_202_0_Amsterdams-Osdorp-area.jpg\")
