Police in Amsterdam declared a major incident after a BMW reportedly carrying explosives crashed in Osdorp following a pursuit linked to an ATM ram-raid in F\u00fcrth, Germany, with four men fleeing the scene and homes evacuated within a 100-metre radius.<\/p>\n

Police have rushed to the scene of a car crash in Amsterdam after a vehicle believed to be carrying explosives left the road during a chase. Authorities were notified of a ram-raid in the German town of F\u00fcrth at approximately 4.30am on Tuesday and traced the vehicle involved, a BMW<\/a> M1, to Amsterdam-Osdorp.<\/p>\n

Officers, military personnel and other emergency services are present on Nierkerkestraat. A police spokesman confirmed that several individuals fled following the pursuit, with eyewitnesses stating they observed four men exiting the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Properties within a 100-metre radius of the car’s location were evacuated as a safety measure while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit carries out its examination.<\/p>\n

The Special Intervention Service (DSI) has also conducted searches of nearby properties to determine whether the suspects were concealed there.<\/p>\n

A police helicopter has been spotted hovering over the vicinity and the road has been sealed off, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

German authorities confirmed that nothing was stolen during the ATM ram-raid, although the structure sustained significant damage and a blaze erupted.<\/p>\n

Dutch broadcaster Nos reported that the Amsterdam operation has now been escalated to a major incident requiring coordinated action between emergency services.<\/p>\n

Footage circulating on social media<\/a> shows several ambulances positioned at the location on standby.<\/p>\n

Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with video evidence of the incident to contact them as the investigation progresses.<\/p>\n
