If a seat belt does not retract freely or maintain the correct amount of tension, it may not provide the intended level of occupant restraint during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"92420\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/moparinsiders.com\/2026-alfa-romeo-tonale-shows-its-sharper-side-at-la-auto-show\/2026-alfa-romeo-tonale-sport-speciale-2\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/AR026_031TN.jpeg\" data-orig-size=\"1383,778\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-title=\"2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale Sport Speciale. (Alfa Romeo).<br \/>\nNearly 49,000 Vehicles Affected<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The recall covers 40,386 <a href=\"https:\/\/moparinsiders.com\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-2025-dodge-hornet-r-t\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dodge Hornet<\/a> models and 8,391 <a href=\"https:\/\/moparinsiders.com\/2026-alfa-romeo-tonale-arrives-in-canada-with-sharper-styling-and-a-new-sport-speciale-trim\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alfa Romeo Tonale<\/a> models.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Affected Hornets were built between August 31, 2022, and September 18, 2025. The affected Tonale population includes vehicles produced between February 9, 2023, and November 26, 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Stellantis established those production periods using manufacturing records and engineering changes. (Dodge).<br \/>\nRecall Chronology<\/p>\n<p>In April 2026, FCA US notified Stellantis Europe S.p.A (\u201cStellantis Europe\u201d) of a potential issue related to rear seat belt retractor malfunction concerning 2023 to 2025 Dodge Hornet and 2023 to 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale.<br \/>\nOn May 4, 2026, Stellantis Europe opened an investigation related to 2023 to 2025 Dodge Hornet and 2023 to 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale rear seat belt retractor malfunction.<br \/>\nFrom May 2026 to June 2026, Stellantis Europe Engineering reviewed information related to those claims and looked into the previous topics known in Europe.<br \/>\nOn July 1, 2026, Stellantis Europe S.p.A organization recognized that the defect may occur on particular conditions due to a weakness in the design.<br \/>\nAs of July 30, 2026, FCA US is aware of 0 customer assistance records, 484 warranty claims, 0 field reports, and no other service records potentially relating to this issue.<br \/>\nAs of July 30, 2026, FCA US is not aware of any accidents or injuries potentially related to this issue for all markets.<br \/>\nOn July 30, 2026, Stellantis Europe determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, that a safety defect exists in certain vehicles.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"100545\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/moparinsiders.com\/alfa-romeo-previews-its-next-compact-suv\/new-tonale-media-drive\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/new-tonale-media-drive.jpeg\" data-orig-size=\"1429,804\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-title=\"2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale Sport Speciale.
