By aiming to produce 1 TWh of compute capacity per year, the combined forces of Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI are attempting to capture a massive percentage of Earth&#8217;s total silicon production output.<\/p>\n<p>However, industry analysts immediately pointed to the elephant in the room: ASML. The Dutch company holds an absolute monopoly on the Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines required to print leading-edge chips, and its order book is already backed up for years. You cannot simply order a fleet of High-NA EUV machines and expect them to be delivered next year.<\/p>\n<p>So, how does Musk plan to build the world\u2019s largest AI hardware operation while bypassing the biggest supply chain bottleneck in the technology sector? It can handle significantly higher voltages, temperatures, and frequencies than silicon.<\/p>\n<p>Because of these inherent material advantages, highly efficient GaN chiplets can be manufactured on slightly more mature nodes using widely available Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) lithography equipment. Silicon is highly susceptible to radiation, which is why deploying advanced neural networks in space has traditionally required bulky, expensive physical shielding.<\/p>\n<p>GaN is inherently radiation-tolerant. By shifting the core architecture to GaN chiplets, TERAFAB is effectively building off-the-shelf, space-ready hardware. It gives those in the back a sense of freedom to explore the surrounding area without annoying the person behind the wheel.<\/p>\n<p>Simplified Functionality for the Back Seat<\/p>\n<p>While the rear screen map is interactive, it doesn&#8217;t have the full functionality of the front-seat app. To keep things simple and safe, the rear display only shows the navigation route for the very next destination or waypoint. Placing a flagship Supercharger and dining experience near Stanford University and Tesla&#8217;s engineering teams will undoubtedly make the location a major gathering spot for tech talent, daily commuters, and local Tesla enthusiasts. Tesla\u2019s Engineering HQ, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notateslaapp.com\/news\/2263\/tesla-to-build-cybertruck-inspired-bear-statue-in-california\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unique Cyberbear statue<\/a>, is located in Palo Alto, making it an obvious choice.<\/p>\n<p>Building on a Hollywood Blockbuster<\/p>\n<p>This expansion is fueled by the overwhelming success of the original prototype. The first Tesla Diner opened in July 2025 on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, replacing a former Shakey&#8217;s Pizza.<\/p>\n<p>The Los Angeles location serves as the perfect proof of concept, featuring 80 V4 Supercharger stalls open to all NACS-compatible vehicles, dual movie screens, rooftop seating, and 24-hour service. The public response has been massive. Furthermore, while core staples like the classic diner burger are expected to remain, the Palo Alto location could potentially feature a unique, localized menu tailored specifically to the Silicon Valley crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Starbase and the Global Vision<\/p>\n<p>Palo Alto is just one piece of a much larger puzzle.
