Photo by Natalie Demaree<\/p>\n<p>By Lisa Kava and Natalie Demaree<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/wusdynasty\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wu\u2019s Dynasty<\/a>, a traditional Cantonese restaurant, will open on August 22nd at 208 West 70th Street (between Amsterdam and West End avenues), owner Derek Wu told West Side Rag. Wu is known in the culinary community for his work as a founder and manager of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/09\/21\/dining\/wus-wonton-king-review-chinese-restaurant-nyc.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wu\u2019s Wonton King<\/a> on the Lower East Side, which he left to start Wu\u2019s Dynasty. Wu\u2019s Dynasty will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day and will serve dim sum, Cantonese-style seafood, and more. \u201cWe hope to provide our neighbors a good place where they can enjoy Cantonese food, and where they can hang out with friends and family,\u201d Wu wrote in an email. The space was previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westsiderag.com\/2020\/01\/09\/openings-closings-hot-crusty-cafe-86-tavola-della-nonna-ateaz-mystery-restaurant\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tavola Della Nonna<\/a>, an Italian-American restaurant that opened in 2020.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westsiderag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Made-In-NY-Pizza.Lisa_-scaled.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-104940\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/netherlands\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Made-In-NY-Pizza.Lisa_-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"  \/><\/a>The former home of Made in NY Pizza on Broadway. Photo by Lisa Kava<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/madeinnewyorkpizza.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Made in NY Pizza<\/a>, a pizza place\u00a0at 2563 Broadway (between West 96th and West 97th streets), permanently closed on August 16th and will be moving to the Upper East Side, a worker at the 271 Amsterdam Avenue location told West Side Rag on a phone call. The two Amsterdam Avenue locations, at 271 and 421 Amsterdam (at West 72nd and West 80th streets respectively), will remain open. Photo by Natalie Demaree<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/teamagic.gotoeat.net\/#google_vignette\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tea Magic,<\/a> a bubble tea shop, at 239 West 72nd Street (between Broadway and West End Avenue), permanently closed on August 15th, according to signage posted to the door. The tea shop served bubble tea, fruit tea, milk tea, and matcha. It also served sandwiches and wraps. Employees have been transferred to the Tea Magic at 2878 Broadway (at West 112th Street near Columbia University), which will remain open and possibly expand in the future, a representative told West Side Rag. Photo by Lisa Kava<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/restaurants.subway.com\/united-states\/ny\/new-york\/2508-broadway\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Subway<\/a>, the fast food sandwich chain\u2019s\u00a0location at 2508 Broadway (between West 93rd and West 94th streets), was <a href=\"https:\/\/a816-health.nyc.gov\/ABCEatsRestaurants\/#!\/Search\/50148954\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shut down <\/a>by the health department on August 13th after 63 violations were found upon inspection. Violations include: live roaches, filth, flies and pests in food and non-food areas, and failure to follow temperature control regulations for food. This is the second time this summer the Subway location was ordered to close after inspection; the first was on <a href=\"https:\/\/a816-health.nyc.gov\/ABCEatsRestaurants\/#!\/Search\/50148954\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">July 2nd<\/a>, with 60 violations.<\/p>\n<p>ICYMI:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodenoughtoeat.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Good Enough to Eat,<\/a> the longtime restaurant at 520 Columbus Avenue (at West 84th Street), is closing on August 30th after 45 years in business. The restaurant was previously located on Amsterdam Avenue and West 83rd Street before moving in 2013. Good Enough to Eat\u2019s breakfast menu will be available at <a href=\"https:\/\/fredsnyc.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fred\u2019s<\/a> at 467 Amsterdam Avenue (at West 83rd Street ).
