The Ireland Women\u2019s National Team (WNT) will conclude their home group campaign in the 2027 FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup qualifying series when they take on the Netherlands at P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh on Friday June 5, with kick-off at 7.30pm.<\/p>\n

This will mark the third time the WNT will play at the Cork venue, following a memorable 3\u20131 victory over France in front of 18,399 spectators in 2024 and a 1\u20130 win against Slovenia last year.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Girls in Green\u2019 recently recorded back-to-back wins over Poland that have boosted their chances of qualifying for a second World Cup tournament – albeit with two group games and potential play-offs still to play.<\/p>\n

Ireland WNT head coach Carla Ward said: \u201cWe are really looking forward to bringing the squad back to Cork in June. We love playing in Cork.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team has won both matches at Pairc Ui Chaoimh so far, and we will be aiming to continue that run against the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve no doubt that our supporters will come out in their numbers to back the team as we aim to move closer to securing a place at the World Cup.\u201d<\/p>\n

Returning to Cork for the ninth time, the WNT have previously played at both Turner\u2019s Cross and Flower\u2019s Lodge but recorded their most significant result at P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh with victory over then world number 2 ranked France in July 2024.<\/p>\n
