BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. Turkmen Foreign
\nMinister Rashid Meredov and Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen
\nmet in The Hague on September 3.<\/p>\n
This was announced in a report published by the press service of
\nthe Turkmen Foreign Ministry on September 4.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the
\nprogressive development of Turkmen-Dutch relations and reaffirmed
\ntheir interest in further expanding cooperation in the
\npolitical-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian
\nspheres,\u201d the report says.<\/p>\n
Particular attention was paid to cooperation in education and
\ndiplomatic training, including Turkmenistan\u2019s long-standing
\ncooperation with the Netherlands Institute of International
\nRelations Clingendael.<\/p>\n
Notably, the Netherlands and Turkmenistan have been developing
\neconomic cooperation in areas including water management,
\nagriculture, horticulture, maritime infrastructure and industrial
\ntechnologies. Dutch companies have previously explored
\nopportunities in Turkmenistan, while bilateral business contacts
\nhave been supported through business forums and meetings involving
\nrepresentatives of the two countries\u2019 private sectors. Water
\nmanagement has remained one of the most prominent areas, reflecting
\nTurkmenistan\u2019s need for technologies aimed at improving the
\nefficiency of water use and the Netherlands\u2019 extensive expertise in
\nthe field.<\/p>\n
Earlier in August, Turkmenistan and the Dutch province of
\nLimburg discussed expanding regional economic cooperation during a
\nvisit by a Turkmen government delegation to the Netherlands.<\/p>\n
The delegation, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of
\nMinisters Tangryguly Atahallyyev, held meetings in The Hague with
\nDirector-General for Political Affairs at the Dutch Ministry of
\nForeign Affairs Joost Flamand and Director of the Cabinet of His
\nMajesty the King Frans Princen. In Maastricht, the delegation met
